CBSE Central Sector Scholarship 2024-25 registration begins; apply by October 31

NEW DELHI : The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Department of Higher Education, has started the application for the Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for college and university Students (CSSS) from today, September 13. Those interested can register for fresh online applications or renewal of scholarships on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP), scholarships.gov.in.
As per the CBSE notification, registration for fresh applications; first renewal for 2023; second renewal for 2022, third renewal for 2021, and fourth renewal for 2020, is available for the candidates. The last date to submit application forms for the renewal and fresh applications is 31 October 2024.
Interested applicants are requested to apply before the deadline and get their applications verified by the institutes to avoid any cancellation of their applications. Candidates must submit the list of original documents if required by the institutes, or else their application will be treated as invalid.

CBSE CSSS scholarship: Objectives
The CSSS scholarship is sponsored by the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education. The scheme has been operational since 2008. The objective of the CSSS scheme is to support meritorious students financially and, assist their day-to-day expenses while pursuing higher studies The applicant must have a family income of less than Rs 4.5 lakh per annum, to be eligible for the scheme.

The scheme aims to offer 82,000 scholarships per year out of which 41,000 are for boys and 41,000 for girls, which has been further divided amongst the state education boards based on the state’s population for the age group of 18 to 25 year students.
Students who secure above 80% in their relevant stream of education in Class 12 are eligible for application. Those who are already availing the benefit of some other scholarships, are not eligible for this scheme.
Candidates will get financial assistance of Rs 12,000 per annum for the first three years and Rs 20,000 per annum for the fourth and fifth years, as per the scholarship scheme.
