The board said students who raised concerns regarding their answer books but received a 'no change' result after review will be offered an opportunity to examine their answer books. The schedule for the inspection process will be released shortly.
CBSE said that verification of issues and re-evaluation are review processes meant to look into specific concerns raised by students. However, applying for these processes does not necessarily mean that a student's marks will change.

"Every year, it is observed that marks may increase, decrease or remain the same depending on the outcome of the review," the board said, adding that any revision in marks is carried out only after a careful review in the interest of fairness and accuracy.
The board said students whose marks remain unchanged despite raising concerns will now have an opportunity to inspect their answer books in person at the concerned regional office. CBSE said details regarding the inspection schedule will be announced soon.
Result in phases
The Board is now releasing the outcomes of verification and re-evaluation applications through the DigiLocker results portal. Over 87% of the total applications received have already been processed and their outcomes declared. The remaining applications are being handled in phases and the entire process is expected to be completed soon.
Students can access their updated status on the DigiLocker portal using their roll number, admit card ID, school number and mother's name. The board said revised marksheets, wherever applicable, are being uploaded to students' DigiLocker accounts simultaneously with the release of verification and re-evaluation outcomes. Revised marksheets are now being issued to schools in a phased manner.
According to the board, the majority of revised marksheets were uploaded on June 21, while the remaining cases will be completed shortly.

Verification and re-evaluation are different
CBSE also explained the difference between verification of issues observed and re-evaluation. Verification of issues observed allows students to report concerns in the scanned copy of their answer books, including missing pages, missing supplementary sheets, blurred pages, missing maps or graphs, instances where another student's answer book has been supplied, or cases where evaluation may have been carried out using an incorrect marking scheme.
Re-evaluation, on the other hand, enables candidates to seek a fresh assessment of specific questions after obtaining the scanned copy of their answer book. Students may apply for re-evaluation in one or more subjects.
The board said extensive measures were put in place to ensure that the review process remained fair, transparent and student-centric. CBSE stated that all complaints relating to missing pages, supplementary answer books, blurred scans, missing maps and graphs, and similar issues were carefully examined and addressed. Every application received from students was reviewed on merit.
The board further said each answer book undergoing re-evaluation was assessed by two evaluators. Experts from IIT Madras and IIT Kanpur were also involved in monitoring the process, while officials from CBSE headquarters and regional offices were deputed to oversee the exercise.
