CBSE directs Class 10, 12 board exam centre superintendents to update OECMS portals
The CBSE said that it has observed that many CBSE Class 10, 12 exam centres have not are not updating OECMS portal daily.

NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has directed the principals and superintendent of examination centres to update the Online Exam Centre Management System (OECMS) portal daily during the CBSE Class 10 and 12 board exams 2024. The board said the information on OECMS portal to monitor day-to-day conduct of the examination.

“It has been observed that many examination centres are still not updating the examination data in the OECMS portal despite the instructions issued in this regard,” the CBSE said. It added that the information will also be used to calculate the amounts payable to various functionaries by integrated payment system (IPS).
Compulsorily update OECMS portal
The board pointed out that information on the OECMS portal is pending for update from many centres. All the centre superintendents have to compulsory update the information in the OECMS portal, the CBSE directed the superintendents of the exam centre.

“This examination is a gigantic exercise involving lakhs of functionaries at various levels. Proper maintenance and online updation of records related to day-to-day examinations are of utmost importance for better management and supervision of examinations,” the CBSE said.
In case the school does not submit information for a particular day on OECMS, the payment for that particular day will not be calculated in IPS, it added. The CBSE circular said the portal is not merely for submission of absentee statements. The exam centre will have to be submitted daily even if there is no absentee at the centre. The CBSE board annual exam started on February 15. The CBSE Class 10 board 2024 exam will conclude March 13 and Class 12 exam will end on April 2.
