The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has once again extended the last date for obtaining scanned photocopies of Class 12 answer books to May 25, 2026 (midnight). Earlier the last date to obtain the scanned copies was May 24, 2026.

In an official circular, the board said it allows students “sufficient time” to apply for scanned copies of their evaluated answer books; the deadline has been extended. Applicants are encouraged to make use of this additional time and submit their requests within the revised schedule. All other rules, terms, and conditions of the facility will remain unchanged.

The official notice reads, “It is stated that the start date for accepting re-evaluation requests shall be communicated soon. It is reiterated that on account of the Board’s commitment to provide every student desirous of availing that facility, that portal shall remain open for at least 2 days after the last copy of scanned and evaluated answer book is made available to applicants.”

Candidates who wish to access a scanned copy can do so by following the prescribed application procedure provided by the board:

  • Go to the official CBSE website at pvr.cbseit.in
  • On the homepage, find and click the link for the scanned copy application
  • A new login page will appear where candidates must enter their credentials
  • After entering the required details, click on the submit button
  • Proceed to pay the applicable application fee online
  • Submit the form and download the confirmation page after successful payment
  • Take a printout of the confirmation page for future reference

To obtain the scanned document, applicants are required to pay a fee of ₹100. This is a significant reduction from the earlier charge of ₹700, making the facility more affordable for students.

Govt orders overhaul of CBSE payment gateway

The Union Education Ministry has ordered a major overhaul of the CBSE payment gateway and re-evaluation systems after widespread complaints of failed transactions, double deductions, and portal crashes during post-result services. Following discussions between Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, four public sector banks: SBI, Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, and Indian Bank, have been tasked with strengthening the payment infrastructure to ensure smoother and more reliable transactions for services like re-evaluation, verification of marks, and obtaining scanned answer sheets.
