Chandigarh schools to reopen with 100% capacity from February 14
The administration allowed colleges, universities and other educational institutions to reopen from February 1.

NEW DELHI: The Chandigarh Administration has decided to reopen schools and coaching institutes with 100% capacity from February 14.
“Schools and coaching institutions will be allowed to start functioning with full capacity in hybrid (offline or online mode) for all classes with effect from February 14, 2022,” said an official notification.
On January 31, the administration allowed colleges, universities and other educational institutions to reopen from February 1.
However, the reopening of colleges is subject to two conditions - all students should have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccination and teaching, non-teaching staff should be fully vaccinated.

All public libraries as well as coaching institutes were allowed to open with 50% capacity while adhering to COVID-19 norms, the statement added.
Hostels also started functioning and students will have to present a negative RT PCR test report for the last 72 hours. Strict COVID-19 rules will be followed in the canteen, mess, common room etc., the statement further added.

Meanwhile, Rashtriya Janata Dal MP Manoj Kumar Jha on Thursday urged the Centre in Rajya Sabha to immediately reopen all colleges and universities, saying imparting education is getting severely affected due to the Covid pandemic. Making a Zero Hour mention, Jha said students are not getting education for the last almost two years due to the closure of educational institutions.
