CJP Protest: NTA sacks 47 officials, announces recruitment drive for general manager, young professional posts

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has sacked 47 officials and initiated legal proceedings against some of them, PTI reported. The decision comes a day after the government appointed Naresh Pal Gangwar as the new higher education secretary, replacing Vineet Joshi, the report read. CJP Protest LIVE.

According to the NTA’s official notification, the NTA will recruit four General Managers and 16 young professionals through the UPSC’s PRATIBHA Setu portal.

"The NTA is set to undergo an overhaul and more reformative actions will follow. At least 47 officials have been terminated, and legal and criminal action will be initiated against some of them," PTI said in the report, citing a senior official.

The decision to remove 47 officials followed the paper leaks and the CBSE digital evaluation controversies, the report read. The recruitment process marks the beginning of reforms by the K Radhakrishnan committee of experts.

The NTA will appoint separate General Managers for Assessment Research and Psychometrics, Test Centre Network and Operations, Information Security, and Vigilance, Investigation and Forensics. These appointments are aimed at strengthening examination systems, cyber security, test centre management and internal investigations.

Whereas, the Cockroach Jantra Party (CJP) has launched its website, Theprotestrecord.com, to crack down the Delhi police personnel involved in the alleged brutality during the Jantar Mantar protest on July 20.

On the other hand, the union cabinet has given its nod to the paper leak draft bill, which will give stricter punishment to those who will be responsible for the exam paper leaks.

The decision by the cabinet comes a day after prime minister Narendra Modi recorded a video, stating that the government will give the strictest punishment to paper leak cuprits.
