NEW DELHI: Over 70,000 candidates are expected to appear in the national-level law entrance exam, Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2022, on June 19, 2022. CLAT is one of the most competitive law entrance exams. Therefore, to get success in the exam, candidates need to prepare well.

Speed and time management

Candidates should improve their reading speed as there will be around 28-30 passages each followed by a series of questions. To complete the test within two hours, one has to be really good at reading and comprehension.

Prepare current affairs

Some questions asked in the CLAT exam are straightforward, especially in current affairs including legal current affairs. Most of the comprehension passages are also taken from recent events of national and international importance. Therefore, having a good hold of current affairs will help the candidates solve the questions quickly.

Target score

Candidates should try to attempt around 115 or more questions in CLAT 2022. A good score in CLAT 2022 for the top 3 national law universities (NLUs) may be around 100-105. And, a 92+ score should be good for the top five-six NLUs. Last year, the general category cut-off for GNLU Gandhinagar and NLU Jodhpur was 92.75 and 93.75 marks respectively. The CLAT cut-off for NLSIU Bengaluru was 103.5 marks for candidates in the same category.

Avoid negative marking

While attempting a good number of questions is important in CLAT 2022, candidates are also advised to avoid negative marking. The questions asked in CLAT are often tricky as most of them seek to test the critical thinking and analysing skills of the candidates. Candidates should pay close attention to the wording of each question while attempting comprehension-based questions in English, legal and logical reasoning.

Solving the previous year's question papers for CLAT and AILET before the examination would immensely help the candidates in improving their CLAT scores. Candidates should solve as many mock test questions as possible during the last few days.
