NEW DELHI: The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has not yet commenced the CLAT counselling process 2025 for the LLB and LLM admissions due to the ongoing legal battles over several alleged errors in the answer key used for result preparation. The Supreme Court has recently transferred all petitions related to CLAT to Delhi High Court to avoid contradictory verdicts.

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT 2025) was held on December 1 for undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law admissions at 24 NLUs in India. After the CLAT answer key was published, several candidates claimed that the provisional answers had 12 errors . Candidates also expressed dissatisfaction on the unreasonably high objection fee of Rs 1,000.
A single-bench of the Delhi High Court instructed the Consortium of NLUs to revise the CLAT results and publish the updated final answer key. The division bench, which heard the petition challenging this decision, refused to interfere. Following this, the Consortium of NLUs approached the Supreme Court “for appropriate relief against this order”.
The top court, which heard the matter, recently instructed to transfer all related cases to Delhi High Court to avoid contradictory judgement. The high court is scheduled to hear the case on March 3.
The single bench in its first verdict asked the Consortium of NLUs to revisit the merit list and revise the results. The Delhi HC directed the officials to revise question number 14 and announced that option C is the correct answer. It accepted the expert committee’s recommendation to exclude question number 100. Based on these corrections, the court asked the Consortium to declare the CLAT revised results .
