NEW DELHI: The minister of Human Resource Development, Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ is going to host a webinar to address the country’s parents on Monday, April 27 at 1 PM.

The webinar will be conducted to hear the grievances of the concerned parents regarding the academic future of children, their mental health and other problems.

The minister has invited queries from the parents on the social media platform which will be taken up in the webinar.

Due to the extension of country-wide lockdown, the entire school system has come to a halt. Owing to these circumstances, schools have attempted to transition to virtual classes to continue academic activities.

Despite the lockdown, several private schools are continuing to ask the parents to deposit the fee adding to the problems of parents.

MHRD's efforts

The ministry has taken several steps to help the students continue their studies at home. The National Council for Education Research and Training, or NCERT, has prepared an ‘alternative academic calendar’ to help the students of primary (Class 1 to 5) and upper primary (Class 6 to 8) study during the lockdown.

The MHRD has also launched the NCERT E-Pathshala app which includes numerous study material like e-books, informative audios and videos and flip-books.
