Bihar schools, colleges to reopen from tomorrow; Classes 9-12 to function at 100% capacity

NEW DELHI: In view of the improvement in the Covid-19 situation, the Bihar government has decided to reopen schools, colleges. Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar today announced the decision to reopen schools in the state after a Covid-19 review meeting.
“In view of the improvement in the situation of corona infection, all schools up to Class 8 will open with 50% capacity and all schools for Classes 9 and above and colleges and coaching institutes will be able to open with 100% attendance,” Nitish Kumar said.
कोरोना की स्थिति की समीक्षा की गई। कोरोना संक्रमण की स्थिति में सुधार को देखते हुए 8वीं कक्षा तक के सभी विद्यालय 50 प्रतिशत क्षमता के साथ तथा 9वीं एवं ऊपर की कक्षाओं से संबंधित सभी विद्यालय एवं महाविद्यालय तथा कोचिंग संस्थान शत-प्रतिशत उपस्थिति के साथ खुल सकेंगे। (1/5)

The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has started conducting the Bihar board exams for Class 12 from February 1. The BSEB Class 12 exams will conclude on February 14. Recently, more than 400 students took the Bihar board Class 12 Hindi exam with car headlights as the only source of light as there was no electricity at the exam centre in Motihari. As a result of which the exam went on till 8 pm at the Maharaja Harendra Kishore college, as per reports.
"All government offices will open daily as normal. Only vaccinated visitors will be allowed to enter the office," the chief minister said.
The central government recently released modified guidelines for reopening schools . It allowed states and Union Territories to decide if parents need to give consent to their children attending offline classes.
