CBSE CTET 2026 LIVE: CTET September new exam date, city slip details soon; passing marks

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will announce the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) September 2026 exam date soon. CBSE will issue the CTET September 2026 exam city slip and admit card on its official website at ctet.nic.in.

In compliance with the Supreme Court judgment, the CBSE CTET September 2026 application window was reopened from August 25 to September 1. The revised date of the 22nd edition of the CTET examination 2026 will be announced soon.

CTET 2026 city slip will include the city name where candidates will have to visit for the paper. CTET admit card 2026 will be issued after the exam dates are announced. Candidates will have to carry the CTET admit card 2026 to the examination hall for verification purposes.

CBSE CTET Exam Pattern

CBSE CTET 2026 exam will be held in offline mode for a duration of two hours 30 minutes. CTET paper will comprise 150 questions worth 150 marks. Both paper 1 and 2 will have 5 sections. Candidates must score atleast 90 marks to pass the CTET exam 2026.

CTET 2026 is conducted in two separate papers; paper 1 is for candidates who are targeting to teach in lower primary in Classes 1 to 5. While CTET 2026 paper 2 is held for recruitment in upper primary schools in Classes 6 to 8.

The CTET is a mandatory eligibility test for candidates aspiring to become teachers in central government schools and several state-run institutions across the country. CBSE has reiterated that the CTET certificate validity for appointment purposes will remain valid for a lifetime for all categories.
