Delhi education minister Ashish Sood distributes 240 tablets to meritorious students for digital empowerment

“Even in situations where schools are closed for any reason, students can continue their studies from home through these tablets, ensuring that their education remains uninterrupted,” the minister said.
Education Minister of Delhi Ashish Sood distributed tablets to 240 studious students of the Janakpuri constituency on Good Governance Day. The objective behind the distribution was to promote digital empowerment and honour the recognition of the students’ academic achievements.
The chief guest of the tablet distribution programme was Ayushi Dabas, IAS, who was formerly a teacher and reached a benchmark by securing the country’s highest rank in the visually impaired category.
The Delhi education minister said: “Being honoured by such inspirational individuals is, in itself, a matter of great pride. He added that the lives of these three guests embody the spirit of Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s poetry, which conveys the message of never giving up and continuously moving forward. He emphasized the importance of bringing such role models before students so they understand that life’s challenges do not define one’s abilities.”
Tablets for online learning
Speaking about Abha Khetarpal, who was affected by polio at the age of three, Ashish Sood said: “Despite numerous challenges, she earned a doctoral degree. Living with over 80% disability, she is the founder of Cross the Hurdles (2010) and actively works on issues related to disability rights, employment, inclusive development and policy advocacy.”
Moreover, Shaurya Sood, a JNU research scholar, who has cerebral palsy, has consistently worked to ensure accessibility and rights in educational institutions and public spaces, particularly in the Delhi Metro.
Sood also added: “When education is supported by useful resources, students’ academic journeys become stronger and more sustainable. To promote digital learning, this tablet scheme is introduced every year so that students can make better use of online learning platforms, self-learning tools, and digital educational content.”
