Delhi University organises G20 valedictory meet

Delhi University organised a series of cultural-cum-academic activities from August 28 to November 29 during India's presidency of the G-20.
NEW DELHI: The culture council of Delhi University (DU) hosted the valedictory meet of Group of 20 (G-20) today at the council hall at Vice Regal Lodge.
The meet was presided by DU vice-chancellor (VC) Yogesh Singh. He said India has presented its spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam to the world through G-20. Singh also released the information bulletin of the culture council.
Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the VC said the PM specialises in turning government programmes into events of the common man. “He made G-20 a program of public participation. People from even villages tried to connect with it,” he added.
The university participated and organised a series of cultural-cum-academic activities from August 28 to November 29 during India's presidency of the G-20. Prof. Yogesh Singh said that through these events the students got a chance to understand the culture of other countries.
“Through these events we came to know that human behavior is almost the same all over the world,” Singh added. The VC congratulated the culture council and all the nodal officers and participants for these events.
DU colleges rich culturally
At the beginning of the program, Anoop Lather, chairperson of the steering committee of DU Culture Council, in his welcome address, said that all the nodal institutions organised the programs in their own way. “Through these events, we got an opportunity to know that DU and its colleges are also very rich culturally. There are many wonderful talents hidden among the students of our colleges,” he added.

At the end of the programme, dean of culture council Ravinder Kumar presented the Vote of thanks. On this occasion, a film based on G-20 activities organized in various colleges and departments was also screened. Heads of departments/principals and nodal officers/faculty members associated with the G-20 events were also honored by the vice-chancellor.
