NEW DELHI: A digital India talk show-cum-interactive session was organised at the Delhi University by the National e-Governance Division (NeGD on yesterday. This was the second such workshop planned over the next six months under the Digital India Awareness campaign of the ministry of electronics and information technology (MeitY).
As many as 500 people, including students, faculty and staff members, from the DU attended the workshop. JL Gupta, director, NeGD, MeitY, explained the objectives of Digital India programme and how its initiatives are bringing digital transformation in the country.
Sanjeev Singh, director, Delhi University Computer Centre, highlighted the importance of collaboration between the government and universities to facilitate better understanding and penetration of benefits to all. He also mentioned the collaborations between the DU has and MeitY for initiatives such as DigiLocker, National Academic Depository (NAD) and Academic Bank of Credits (ABC).
The students and faculty members also participated in a Digital India quiz on the five projects. The winners were awarded Digital India goodies and certificates.
Several sessions were conducted by experts on five key Digital India initiatives, UMANG, DigiLocker, National Academic Depository – Academic Bank of Credits (NAD-ABC), Cyber Security, myScheme and UX4G. Experts spoke on how Digital India initiatives can benefit students, faculty and citizens at large? The experts also interacted with the experts.
Sanjoy Roy, director, the Institute of Lifelong Learning (ILLL), delivered a speech on the benefits of digitalisation in the lives of students and the necessity of ethics in the digital world.
