The University of Delhi (DU) commenced its new academic session for the 2026-27 academic year today. Colleges across the university welcomed undergraduate students through orientation and induction programmes to help them transition smoothly into university life. Several colleges have planned department-wise orientation programmes to introduce students to their respective courses, faculty members and curriculum. Students will also be briefed about academic procedures, examination rules, attendance requirements, library facilities and campus resources.

Students interested in admission must know that undergraduate admission process under the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) is still underway. Delhi University is currently conducting the second round of admissions, and is offering seats through the centralised counselling process.

The university had extended the deadline for candidates to accept seats allotted in the second round until July 27, 11.59 pm, providing applicants with additional time to confirm their admissions. The colleges are now verifying documents and approving applications as part of the admission process.

According to the admission schedule, colleges will be able to verify and approve applications until 11.59 pm today. Candidates whose admissions are approved must complete the payment of the admission fee by 11.59 pm on July 29 to confirm their seats. The university has advised students to complete all admission formalities within deadline to avoid cancellation of their allotted seats.

DU CSAS Round 1

Delhi University witnessed a strong response during the first round of admissions. As many as 63,756 candidates successfully confirmed their admissions after the first allocation round. Earlier, the university had offered seats to 93,033 candidates against more than 71,000 available seats across 221 undergraduate programmes offered by 67 colleges.

Candidates who are yet to secure admission or are seeking upgraded allocations should continue to follow the official admission schedule and complete all required formalities within deadlines.
