The University of Delhi (DU) has signed an agreement with Leeds University, United Kingdom (UK), to exchange mobility and research activities. The partnership aims to expand student and faculty exchange programmes as well as research initiatives.

The Delhi University agreement is a step towards the twinning programme as laid down by the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The programme will allow students from both universities to spend one semester at the partner university.

Leeds University UK vice chancellor and president, Shearer West, noted that there is a growing interest in students at Leeds to opt for India as a study abroad destination for postgraduate and doctoral studies. She hopes that this partnership will help in facilitating student exchange.

DU vice chancellor, Yogesh Singh, talked about having faculty members from Leeds University as adjunct faculty at Delhi University. This move could provide beneficial international exposure to both students and teachers, according to Singh.
