FMGE December 2022: 10,000 aspirants yet to receive admit card, students claim

NEW DELHI: Just 2 days left for the Foreign Medical Graduates Examination (FMGE) December 2022 exam and nearly 10,000 aspirants are yet to receive their admit cards. Students who demanded clarity over delay in releasing admit cards alleged that the National Board of Examinations (NBE) threatened to withhold their FMGE results.

The FMGE December 2022 exam which was earlier scheduled to be held on December 4 was postponed to January 20 due to Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections by the Delhi State Election Commission. The board conducts exam every year for Indians with medical degrees from foreign universities to qualify for practice medicine in India.

As per the revised schedule, the FMGE announced to release admit cards on January 13. However, several students who registered for the exam did not receive their hall ticket due to “blurry image and missing documents”.

Rubbishing the claims given the NBE, an aspirant alleged, “The NBE director threatened that the results will be withheld if spoken against the board. We were pushed outside the office when we demanded clarity on why the admit cards were not issued.”

“I have been studying for 18 hours for the past few months and I don’t have any other option than to suicide. Six months of hard work will go in vain,” he added.

“Around 10000 #FMG student's didn’t receive their admit cards for 20th Jan FMG Exam. NMC and NBE We demand immediate response for the reasons thereof & a quick redressal of the problem,” Shankul Dwivedi, IMA junior doctors network standing committee member wrote on Twitter.

A medical aspirant said, “I didn't get my admit card for FMGE2022 and not any help desk helpline responding calls or emails, around 10,000 FMGE aspirants have same problem, please provide admit cards for #FMGE2022 so our months of preparation don't just go waste!”
