Former BHU VC Rakesh Bhatnagar to lead Amity University Jaipur
Rakesh Bhatnagar has been appointed the President of Amity University, Jaipur. He has also taught at JNU.

NEW DELHI: Rakesh Bhatnagar, former Vice-Chancellor of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has been appointed president of Amity University, Jaipur, Rajasthan. He was also VC of Kumaun University, Nainital for six months and had taught at Jawaharlal Nehru University, leading centres and departments as chairperson, director and dean.
At JNU, Bhatnagar was at the Special Centre for Biotechnology working on molecular biology of infectious diseases, vaccines and programmed cell death.
"His experience and vision will definitely help us in realising our dreams,” said Dr. Aseem Chauhan, Chairman and Chancellor of Amity University,
Achievements
Bhatnagar is the recipient of the President’s Award for innovation.
He also won the ICMR (Indian Council for Medical Research) award for outstanding research work in the field of Immunology.
Bhatnagar has also been ranked 7th among the top ten eminent researchers publishing commendable research papers on anthrax by Open-source Global Anthrax Research Literature.
An alumnus of National Sugar Institute, Kanpur, Bhatnagar is an elected fellow of all three major science academies of India, Indian National Science Academy, New Delhi, Indian Academy of Science, Bangalore and National Academy of Science, Allahabad.
