IIT Roorkee extends GATE 2025 defect rectification facility till March 15

Try NowNEW DELHI : The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has extended the last date to rectify defects in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 application form till March 15. Candidates who wish to edit their details or have been told that their information is incorrect can make changes in their GATE application form 2025 by logging in on the GOAPS portal through the official website, gate2025.iitr.ac.in.
The institute has clarified that applicants will not be allowed to change their category at this stage. Those candidates who do not clear their errors will end up having their GATE 2025 results withheld , it added.
All such aspirants whose personal details do not match with the GATE 2025 record have been marked as provisional or defect candidates. “Your personal details are found to be incorrect as per GATE 2025 record. Please update/ modify in GOAPS portal latest by 15th March 2025, otherwise your result will be withheld,” says the message to the defaulters.
“The defect rectification for provisional /marked as defect candidates is now open upto 15th March 2025. Such candidates are instructed to login through GOAPS portal and clear their defects to avoid result withheld. No category change(s) is allowed/permissible at this stage,” the instruction further said.
Once candidates modify their details and the application correction facility is over, IIT Roorkee will work on preparing and declaring the GATE results 2025 which will be based on the GATE 2025 final answer key. GATE result date 2025 is March 19. Applicants were allowed to submit their grievances against the provisional GATE answer key 2025 till March 1.
