Try NowNEW DELHI: The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2025) will be conducted on February 1, 2 and February 15 and 16 by the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee). With just a couple of days left for the exam, candidates can check the GATE subject-wise cut-offs to increase their chances of admission in the desired institute.
The computer-based test (CBT) is conducted to test candidates’ knowledge in the undergraduate courses in engineering, technology, architecture, science, commerce, arts, humanities.
Candidates opting to appear in two papers must have a primary choice of test paper. The second test paper must be chosen from the allowed combinations and the exam may be conducted in a different exam centre in the same city.
GATE 2025 will be conducted for 30 test papers. Each GATE paper will carry a total of 100 marks, of which the general aptitude section carrying 15 marks is the common for all papers. The remaining questions, which carry 85 marks, cover the respective test paper syllabus.
As per the marking scheme, questions carry 1 mark or 2 marks and there will be negative marking for wrong response.
- For a 1-mark MCQ - 1/3 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer.
- For a 2-mark MCQ - 2/3 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer.
However, there will be no negative marking for wrong answers to multi-select questions or NAT questions. There will be no partial marking in MSQ, the institute informed.
