NEW DELHI: The government of Goa signed an agreement with Bengaluru-based EdTech platform Newton School to offer the Digital Goa Scholarship Programme. The programme aims to train 10,000 Goan students in software development by providing a 12-week bootcamp in coding and a six-month certification programme in full-stack web development.
The 12-week coding bootcamp will include sessions where students, from technical and non-technical backgrounds, will be trained in logical thinking and introduced to coding. The sessions will also be conducted by mentors, instructors, Newton School alumni, and industry professionals working for companies like Netflix, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, among others. The programme will be using an e-learning model wherein the students will have access to daily live classes in resume-building sessions and mock interviews for interview preparations.

Newton School will be providing advanced training in coding for students from various colleges and make them eligible to get placed in 1000s of IT companies across India. In Goa we are committed to be a part of the Educational Revolution that has unfolded under the leadership of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Getting IT companies to Goa will not only benefit the youth, but will facilitate the entire economy.”
