Download EbookGujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) has announced the date of GUJCET entrance exam as April 23, 2018. The exam will be conducted in offline mode across all the exam centres as allotted. Candidates willing to appear in the exam will have to fill the application form which will be available in the last week of March tentatively.
However, it is important that candidates filling the application form must fulfil the eligibility criteria as specified by GSEB. Candidates should be bonafide residents of Gujarat. Candidates belonging to Gujarat but residing in other states of the country will also be eligible for GUJCET. To apply, candidates need to have completed their 10+2 or any equivalent exam with minimum 45% marks from GSEB/ CBSE, Delhi/ CISCE, New Delhi/ NIOS or International School Board or any equivalent board which is recognized. The reserved category candidates need to have minimum 40% marks in their qualifying exam.
The entrance exam will have Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) in Hindi, English and Gujarati. Candidates will have to answer 80 questions in Physics and Chemistry together within 2 hours. However, for Mathematics, separate 1 hour will be given to solve 40 questions. For every incorrect answer 0.25 marks will be deducted in the exam.
GUJCET will be conducted for admissions to various undergraduate engineering programmes offered by the colleges of Gujarat. The qualified candidates of the entrance exam will be required to participate in the counselling process conducted by the Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) in online mode. The seats in 112 participating institutes of GUJCET will be allotted by ACPC during the counselling procedure on the basis of merit and candidates' preference of colleges and courses.
