PIL Challenging Eligibility Criteria for UG Admission
A student had challenged a recent amendment that was made to the eligibility criteria for DU admission to some of the courses such as B.Com (Hons.) and BA (Hons.) Economics wherein it made it mandatory for maths to be part of the ‘best of four’ subjects.
However, in its directive, the court also mentioned that the University reserves the right to make the requisite changes in the eligibility criteria but they have to be done in accordance with the law. Such changes could be made by giving a notice of at least six months to the public. A day before the commencement of the registration process, University of Delhi had announced changes the eligibility criteria for admission to certain UG level courses.
Change in Schedule for Admission Process
With the change in the last date for filling the application form of Delhi University, it is likely that the complete schedule of the admission process will change since the first cutoff list was supposed to be declared on June 20.
