NEW DELHI: Hewlett-Packard (HP) has launched the HP Innovation & Digital Education Academy (HP IDEA) program in India today, April 18. The initiative intends to provide educators with key digital pedagogy skills, transform teaching techniques, and enhance students' learning experiences in CBSE schools in India.
The HP IDEA program, developed in partnership with the Centre for Teacher Accreditation (CENTA) and Verdant and Co, is precisely designed to meet the increasing demands of educators and students in the digital age. It provides training and resources to teachers, giving them the tools and expertise they need to succeed in a technology-driven learning environment.
Equipping educators
Aligned with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the HP IDEA program in India is geared towards impacting 50 schools, thereby benefiting approximately 5,000 teachers and 50,000 students across the country.
The primary focus of the program remains on equipping educators with the latest tools and best practices in teaching and learning, aligning with global educational standards.
HP IDEA Programme: Two pathways for participation
The HP IDEA program offers two distinct pathways for participating schools: HP IDEA fellow and HP IDEA associate.
HP IDEA fellow pathway
The HP IDEA Fellow pathway entails a comprehensive one-year teacher development program tailored for select practitioners and instructional leaders. It offers an immersive experience aimed at enhancing their pedagogical skills and instructional leadership.

HP IDEA associate pathway
In contrast, the HP IDEA Associate pathway provides targeted support for all staff members within participating schools. Through engaging in trainings delivered by HP IDEA Fellows, staff members can become certified HP IDEA Associates, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement in education.
Ipsita Dasgupta, SVP and managing director HP India market, said, “Advocating Digital Equity is a crucial aspect of HP’s vision for the digital future. We are proud to bring this incredible program to India and look forward to seeing its impact for educators and students across the country.
