ICAI organises career counselling programme; over 1.3 lakh students, principals participate
The ICAI formed committee took up 1,242 career counselling programmes and counselled 4 lakh students across country this year.

NEW DELHI: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) formed a committee on career counselling and organised the 'super mega career counselling programme on PAN INDIA' on October 31, 2022.
In this programme, students from class 9 to graduation were given career counselling to help them take a suited decision for their future. Over 1,30,000 students along with principals, teachers and career counsellors participated in the drive organised by 85 branches including four regional councils of ICAI.

The programme in Delhi was organised with the northern India regional council (NIRC) of ICAI. Approximately 5,000 students along with principals and teachers of various schools and colleges attended the programme in Delhi alone.
The primary objective of the career counselling programme was to focus on chartered accountants in secondary, senior and higher secondary schools along with graduate and post graduate students and other stakeholders in India and abroad. This year, the committee took up 1,242 career counselling programmes and counselled 4 lakh students spread across country.
Speaking at the occasion, directorate of education, director, guest of honour, Himanshu Gupta, said: “ the importance of Commerce Education and its growing demand in the economy," He highlighted about the need of the chartered Accountants and their diversified roles in the economy. Gupta appreciated the initiative taken by the ICAI for providing career guidance to the students at large.
