IIM-B records 100 percent placement, 130 companies participated

Over 130 recruiters participated in the IIM-Bangalore placement drive which was conducted entirely in online mode due to the ongoing pandemic.
NEW DELHI: All 525 eligible students at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore got hired in the recently concluded summer internship placements for the batch of 2022.
Students were hired from the postgraduate program (PGP) and the first-ever batch of the postgraduate program in Business Analytics (PGP BA). A total of 25 companies made offers to MBA Business Analytics students.
Over 130 recruiters participated in the IIM-B placement drive which was conducted entirely in online mode due to the ongoing pandemic.
Roles were offered in the sector of business analytics, consulting, finance, general management, IT/product management, operations, sales and marketing. A majority of students were hired in the consulting sector which alone recorded 144 offers.
Despite COVID-19 pandemic, IIM-Ahmedabad also achieved 100 percent placement in its virtual summer placement concluded last week.
IIM-Bangalore placement offers
Most offers were made by companies like Accenture Strategy with 24 internship offers followed by Bain and Company with 18 offers in the consulting sector.
The sales and marketing sector saw the second-highest number of placements with 95 offers. Recruiters like P&G and Stepcare made seven offers each. Internship offers were given in companies like Asian Paints, Vodafone Idea Ltd, Samsung, Hindustan Unilever amongst others.
In addition, there were 93 offers in the broad domain which included IT, programming and e-commerce. Amazon emerged as the top recruiter with 31 offers followed by Microsoft which made seven offers.
Big business conglomerates made as many as 81 offers where Tata Consultancy Services emerged as the top recruiter with 10 offers.
In the finance, banking and investment domain a total of 71 offers were made. Private equity firms, which made offers, included CDC Group, Gaja Capital, Multiples. Finance firms like Goldman Sachs made 11 offers followed by Avendus Capital, Citibank and FinIQ which made five offers each.
