IIMA Placement: TCS, Unacademy, Vedanta top recruiters in last cluster

This year’s IIM A summer placement was conducted online due to the COVID-19 lockdown.
NEW DELHI: With the conclusion of the third cluster, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad concluded the summer placement process 2020 on Monday.
The final cluster of IIM A placement saw the participation of over 50 firms in which Tata Consultancy Services emerged as the top recruiter with 15 offers.
This year, the IIM A summer placement for the postgraduate class of 2020 was conducted entirely in online mode due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. In a “cluster-cohort” based hiring process, companies offering similar profiles were grouped into cohorts.
In the previous cluster , 40 recruiters hired IIM A students in virtual placement drive with Amazon alone recruiting 14 students for internships.
In the first cluster , 50 companies participated where Bain and Company made 20 job offers followed by Boston Consulting Group with 19 offers.

In the third cluster, companies hired in the sectors of banking and insurance, financial services, consumer technology, core manufacturing and infrastructure, education tech, enterprise tech, food and dairy, govt. enterprises, analytics and IT consulting,
Internships were also offered in the sectors like renewable energy and green tech and social enterprises and various non-profit organisations.
In the core manufacturing and infrastructure sector, Vedanta was the highest recruiter which made 6 offers to IIM A students.
The banking and insurance sector saw the participation of banks like Reserve Bank of India, ICICI Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank.
This year, new recruiters included companies like Atlassian, BPCL, DuPont, Everest Instruments, Oracle and Reserve Bank of India. Among new recruiters, Unacademy in the Education and Tech sector alone made nine offers.
