IIT Jodhpur offers eight multi-disciplinary BTech programmes
IIT Jodhpur has introduced the BTech programmes to meet the demand of ‘global engineers’.

NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur (IITJ) offers eight multidisciplinary BTech courses that are oriented with the rising technology trends. “Design thinking” and “social connect” have been embedded into the curriculum of these programmes, says a statement from the institute.
The eight BTechs aim to create ‘global engineers’ who will be technology leaders and innovators with empathy and sensitivity towards sustainable development, as per a statement from IIT Jodhpur.
“With the emergence of multidisciplinary research and technologies globally, the creative function of engineering is expected to cover the broader context of the new patterns of knowledge creation across traditional disciplines,” said IIT Jodhpur in the statement.
Several IITs have launched new BTech and MTech programmes this year. IIT Delhi will offer BTech in energy engineering; IIT Roorkee has launched two postgraduate courses in it is new school for design.

Entrepreneurship education has also been introduced as a minor area in the curriculum of IIT Jodhpur. It provides the students with an experience in innovation, prototyping, business model formulation, and market analysis.
