IIT Madras Pravartak launches online certificate course on ML Operations with TCS iON

Last date to apply for the IIT Madras Pravartak online course is July 5, classes begin from July 15
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation is joining hands with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) iON to launch a new certificate programme: MLOps - Scalable ML Operations - Associate. The last date to register is July 5, 2025.
The 110-hour online certificate course aims to equip learners with knowledge of spark architecture and programming, an understanding of the machine learning (ML) project lifecycle and architecture, as well as of the principles of containerisation and DataOps.
The course is scheduled to begin from July 15, and it will run till October 28. Two extra weeks have been provided in case of any contingency. Working professionals can register for the course at Rs 49,500.

IITM Pravartak MLOps course
The programme will provide hands-on experience in Python, Scala, Apache Spark, ML algorithms, LLM (BERT, ChatGPT, Llama, T5), containerisation (Docker, Docker Compose), Kafka, Apache Airflow, and Ray. Learners will unlock career options in AI ML, data science and Gen AI, and LLM. Potential career pathways can be:
- Data engineer
- Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) engineer (junior/associate)
- MLOps Platform engineer
- ML Automation engineer
The programme will also include teaching the ability to automate ML workflow , pipelines and deployment, with an understanding of Generative AI Architectures and models.
“Machine Language Operations - Associate level course aims to upskill professionals and make them stay relevant in AI driven industries,” said MJ Shankar Raman, chief executive officer of IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation.
According to Venguswamy Ramaswamy, global head of TCS iON, the MLOps programme will have 110 hours of experiential learning and live classes by IITM Pravartak professors as well as by industry experts, focussing on “real-world application scenarios”.
