Through the BTech Cadet entry recruitment drive, the Navy aims to fill 60 vacancies in the technical branches, including 30 posts each in Mechanical Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering. Out of these, a maximum of eight vacancies have been reserved for women candidates.
Selected candidates will undergo a four-year BTech course at the Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala. After finishing the training, they will receive a Permanent Commission in the Indian Navy. The Navy will also pay for the full training, including books, study materials, clothing, and food.
As per the Indian Navy 10+2 BTech Cadet entry scheme, candidates born between July 2, 2007 and January 1, 2010 (both dates inclusive) are eligible to apply for the course.
Indian Navy Recruitment 2026: Eligibility criteria
Applicants must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent exam from a recognised board with a minimum of 70% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) combined and at least 50% marks in English in either Class 10 or Class 12, and are eligible for the Indian Navy BTech Cadet entry course.
Candidates must also have appeared for the JEE Main 2026 exam for BE or BTech programmes. The Indian Navy will shortlist candidates for the SSB interview based on the JEE Main 2026 All India Common Rank List (CRL) released by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Indian Navy Recruitment 2026: Selection process
According to the notification, the Naval Headquarters will decide the SSB shortlisting cut-off based on the JEE Main 2026 CRL. Shortlisted candidates will be informed through email and SMS and will be called for SSB interviews in Bengaluru, Bhopal, Kolkata, or Visakhapatnam from September 2026 onwards.
The final merit list will be prepared based on SSB interview performance and medical fitness. The appointment will also depend on police verification, character verification, and the availability of vacancies.
Indian Navy Recruitment 2026: How to apply
Candidates can follow the steps given below to submit the Indian Navy BTech Cadet entry application form:
- Go to the official website, joinindiannavy.gov.in.
- Register using a valid email ID and mobile number.
- Fill in the Indian Navy BTech Cadet entry online application form with personal and academic details.
- Upload the essential documents, including Class 10 and 12 marksheets, JEE Main 2026 scorecard and a recent passport-size photograph.
- Submit the Indian Navy BTech Cadet entry application form and download a copy for future reference.

Under the training programme, selected candidates will study BTech in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Naval Architecture and Shipbuilding. After completing the course successfully, they will receive a BTech degree from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).
