JEE Advanced 2023 Result: IIT Kanpur to offer 10 special scholarships to top 100 rankers

An annual scholarship of Rs 3 lakh will be awarded to students admitted for BTech and BS programmes for the 2023-24 academic year.
NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur will offer 10 special scholarships for the all India top 100 JEE Advanced rank holders. The IIT Kanpur scholarship -- Bright Minds Scholarships, is awarded for the third year in a row. The initiative constitutes 10 prestigious and highly sought-after academic scholarships for students from the top 100 AIR in JEE Advanced 2023 , an IIT Kanpur statement said. The scholarships will cover all the expenses in BTech and BS programmes in the 2023-24 academic year including tuition and living during their stay at IIT Kanpur.
The institute introduced the scholarships for the first time in 2021 with generous support from alumnus Lokvir Kapoor.
The scholarships would be awarded to select students. IIT Kanpur’s offering of these scholarships would ensure that not a single meritorious student faces any hurdle in the smooth functioning of academics and learning due to financial constraints. Each of the eligible students would be offered an annual scholarship of Rs 3 lakh, which would cover their expenses during the UG program. The selected students will be given scholarship for all four years of UG programme provided they maintain minimum cumulative performance index (CPI) of 8.0.
On average, an institute statement said, an undergraduate student at IIT Kanpur expends a sum of about Rs12 lakh over the course of their four-year B.Tech/BS program. From tuition fees to accommodation and transport, from books to health insurance, every facet of the students' educational journey shall be taken care of by these scholarships.
