NEW DELHI : The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2023 session 2 day-3 exam today, April 10. JEE Mains session 2 was conducted in two shifts. The first shift got over at 12 noon whereas the second shift commenced at 3 pm and ended at 6 pm. Candidates will be required to carry any one of the original and valid photo identification proof issued by the government -- PAN card, driving license, voter id, passport, aadhaar card with photograph), e-aadhaar, ration card, or identification affidavit along with JEE Mains hall ticket to the examination hall.
Candidates can carry a transparent ballpoint pen, personal hand sanitiser, transparent water bottle, sugar tablets or fruits inside the exam hall. There is no strict dress code to be followed for the JEE Main exam 2023. However, candidates should avoid wearing any piece of jewellery, watch, or any other gadgets and ornaments.

JEE Main 2023 April 10 Shift 2 Analysis: How was today's exam?
As per Ramesh Batlish, FIITJEE Noida, "The reporting time for students was 2:20 pm however the exam started sharp at 3:00 pm. Students were not allowed to carry anything inside examination hall except a transparent ball point Pen, Admit Card & Aadhar Card. All guidelines as released by NTA earlier were followed for safety of the exam takers.
Every student was made to go through a sanitizing station where they had to sanitize themselves through a foot press lever. Personal masks were not allowed. Every student was given a fresh surgical mask at entry. Metal detectors were used at the entry gate and no bags or wrist watches were allowed inside. Students reported that entry started as soon as they were screened at the entry point. Time Clock on computer screen was provided inside the examination hall."

Today JEE Mains paper shift 2 analysis
According to Ramesh Batlish, managing partner and head-FIITJEE Noida, the overall difficulty level of shift 2 was moderate.
- Mathematics – Moderate Level. Weightage was given to chapters of Conic Sections and Calculus. Questions asked from Matrices, Vectors, 3D Geometry, Ellipse, Circle, Parabola, Binomial Theorem, Progressions, Functions, AOD, Areas, Differential Equation. Both MCQs and Numerical Based questions required lengthy calculations. This section was also tricky as per few students.
- Physics – EASY level. Weightage given to chapters of Kinematics, Laws of Motion, Rotational Motion, Magnetism, SHM & Waves, Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Ray Optics, Wave Optics, Semiconductors and Modern Physics. Numerical based questions were reported as Easy. Chapters of XII Class had more weightage. Assertion -Reasoning questions had mixed concepts.
- Chemistry - Easy To Moderate level. Physical & Inorganic Chemistry had more weightage. Questions were asked from Amines, Aldehydes & Ketones, Polymers, Alcohols, Ethers & Phenols, Aryl & Alkyl halides in Organic Chemistry. Ionic Equilibrium, Solid State, Surface Chemistry, Coordination Compounds, Mole Concept, Electrochemistry, Atomic Structure, Chemical Kinetics. Inorganic Chemistry had questions from p-block and d-block, Ores & Metallurgy.

- Physics was rated as easy on the difficulty level. It consisted mostly of easy and moderate questions. Questions were evenly distributed among all units and most of the questions were NCERT based.

Physics- The Physics section had questions from Mechanics, Electrostatics, Optics and Modern physics. There was one question from thermodynamics and waves.
Chemistry- In Chemistry one question was from chromatography. The questions from organic chemistry and inorganic chemistry dominated more than physical chemistry. There was also one question each of polymers and biomolecules and chemistry in everyday life.

Minimum marks in JEE Mains to qualify for JEE Advanced 2023
All the candidates must simultaneously fulfil each and every one of the following five criteria to appear for JEE Advanced 2023.

Jeemain.nta.nic.in 2023 checklist
These are the things a candidate should carry to the exam centre:
- Print copy of the JEE Main 2023 admit card along with self-declaration downloaded from the NTA Website in a clear printout on A4 size paper) duly filled in.
- One passport-size photograph same as uploaded on the JEE Main online application form for pasting on the specific space in the Attendance Sheet at Centre during the examination.
- Any one of the authorized photo IDs in original, valid, and non-expired) – school identity card, PAN card, driving license, voter ID, passport, aadhaar card with photograph, e-aadhaar with photograph or ration card with photograph or Class 12 board exam admit card with photograph or bank passbook with photograph.
- PwD certificate issued by the authorized medical officer, if claiming the relaxation under PwD category or PwD Certificate regarding physical limitation in an examination to write as per Annexures given in Information Bulletin, if claiming the relaxation under PwD category.
- A simple transparent ball point pen -- blue or back

As per the jee main nta.nic.in admit card guidelines, candidates appearing for the shift 1 exam will have to reach the exam centre by 8:30 am.

JEE Mains.nta.nic.in admit card guidelines
- All candidates will have to report by 8 am at the exam centre.
- Examinees will be required to carry a hard copy of the JEE admit card and a valid government-issued photo ID proof for verification purposes.
- No candidate should carry prohibited items to the exam hall, which include books, notebooks, mobile phones, earphones, tablets, bluetooth devices, speakers etc.
- Malpractices such as cheating, copying etc shall invite cancellation of candidature.
- Candidates will only be allowed to leave the exam centre after the exam concludes.
- Strict adherence to Covid-appropriate behaviour is a must at all times at the exam centre.

- Candidates taking the exams starting today will not be permitted to carry any metallic objects to the exam centre. They should also avoid wearing any kind of jewellery and ornaments. They will not be allowed to wear any electronic watches.
- Applicants who wear Kara or Kirpan due to religious reasons have to report to the exam centre an hour before the gate closing time and intimate the officials
- Candidates cannot cover their heads with cap, dupatta, etc unless it is a customary dress for which they have prior permission

JEE Main 2023 information bulletin reads, "For appearing in the JEE (Main) - 2023, there is no age limit for the candidates. The candidates who have passed the class 12/equivalent examination in 2021, 2022, or appearing in 2023 irrespective of their age can appear in JEE (Main) - 2023 examination. However, the candidates may be required to fulfill the age criteria of the Institute(s) to which they are desirous of taking admission."

- Visit JEE Main official website -- jeemain.nta.nic.in.
- Click on the relevant link to download the hall ticket for the exam.
- A new login page will be displayed on the screen. Key in your valid login credentials like application number and date of birth.
- Submit the details. The hall ticket will be displayed on the screen.
- Check the hall ticket details and download it on your device.
- Print its hard copy for future references.
