The IIT JEE Main 2025 exam will be conducted in two sessions for admission to BE and BTech programmes at the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), and other participating institutions.
As per the JEE Main 2025 notification, Session 1 for Paper 1 is tentatively scheduled from January 22 to January 31, while Session 2 is likely to be held from April 1 to April 8.

The changes not allowed in the JEE Main 2025 application form include the mobile number, E-mail address, address (both permanent and present), emergency contact details, and the photograph of the candidate. These fields cannot be modified during the application correction process
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has not yet announced the JEE Main 2025 eligibility criteria. Last year, the exam agency reintroduced the 75% criteria, requiring students to score at least 75% marks in Class 12 to be eligible. A slight modification to this rule allowed students in the top 20 percentile of their respective boards to be eligible to apply for the engineering entrance exam. This policy had been scrapped during the Covid pandemic.
The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur), has launched a new initiative called the Self Assessment Test and Help for Entrance Exams (SATHEE) scheme. This initiative is designed to assist students in preparing for competitive exams such as JEE Mains 2025, NEET UG 2025, and government services (SSC) exams, all free of cost.
As per the guidelines, PwD and PwBD candidates will get an additional time of a minimum of one hour for the three-hour JEE Mains 2025 exam. Moreover, the word extra or additional time will be called compensatory time. The facility of a scribe will be granted on the production of relevant certificates.
NTA has reduced the international exam centres for JEE Mains this year. As per the JEE Main 2025 information bulletin, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, Hong Kong, Mauritius, Russia, South Africa, Thailand, Vietnam have been removed from international centres.

The last date to register for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 session 1 is November 22, 2024. The NTA informed that no further extension will given after the deadline. Eligible candidates can apply online at jeemain.nta.nic.in.

The changes allowed in the JEE Main 2025 application form include the candidate's name, father's name, mother's name, class 10 details, class 12 details, PAN card number, examination cities (based on permanent and present addresses, though NTA is not bound by the choices), examination city selection, medium of the examination, date of birth, gender, category, sub-category, PwD status, and signature.
The marking scheme for JEE Main Paper 1 is as follows: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) award +4 marks for each correct answer, while -1 mark is deducted for each incorrect answer. For Numerical Questions, candidates receive +4 marks for each correct response. The examination has a duration of 3 hours, extending to 4 hours for candidates with disabilities.
