JEE Main 2026: NIT Srinagar BTech admission cut-offs, counselling dates closing ranks explained

NIT Srinagar offers BTech admissions in seven branches via JoSAA counselling – CSE, ECE, EE, mechanical, civil, MME and chemical engineering
National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar, in Jammu and Kashmir, offers BTech admissions across six branches – computer science, electronics and communication, electrical, mechanical, civil, and chemical engineering.
Last year, the computer science and engineering branch closed at the highest rank of 26171, while metallurgical and materials engineering closed at the lowest rank of 57881 for Other State (OS) candidates in the unreserved category.
Candidates seeking admission to BTech programmes at NIT Srinagar will be allotted seats based on their JEE Main ranks through the centralised counselling process conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA).
JoSAA counselling registration is expected to begin in the month of June, which is held for admissions to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and various other institutes.

Last year, six rounds of JoSAA counselling were held for all branches of NIT Srinagar and the closing ranks of the unreserved category for other states, for admission at NIT Srinagar are given in the table below.

The JEE Main 2026 session 1 exams for BTech (Paper 1) will be held on January 21, 22, 23, 24 and 28, 2026, while the BArch/BPlanning exam (Paper 2) is scheduled for January 29, 2026. Session 2 will be conducted from April 2 to April 9, 2026.
