NTA will conduct session 1 exams on January 22, 23, 24, 28, 29, and 30 in computer-based test (CBT) mode across the country. JEE Main is held in 13 languages, including Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, and Urdu.
JEE Main entrance exams are held in two sessions every year: session 1 in January and session 2 in April for admission to undergraduate engineering, architecture, and planning programmes.
JEE Main January 2027: How to apply?
The steps to apply for the JEE Main 2027 session 1 exam are as follows.
- Visit the official website at jeemain.nta.nic.
- Click on the JEE Main January registration link.
- Create a new registration.
- Choose a login mode and identification for submitting the application form.
- Complete registration using details such as name, mobile number, and email address.
- JEE login details will be generated.
- Fill in the JEE Main form with personal and educational details.
- Upload scanned images of a photograph, signature, Identity proof (other than Aadhaar or Digilocker) and UDID card/disability certificate (if applicable).
- Pay JEE Main registration fees.
- Download the confirmation page for future use.
In the last academic session, 26 candidates scored 100 percentiles in the JEE Main January and April session exams.
JEE Main 2027: Information brochure soon
JEE Main 2027 information bulletin will be issued on its official website soon. JEE Main brochure will include details such as application fees, admit card, exam dates, pattern, marking scheme, and other important information.
According to last year’s brochure, the JEE Main application fee for all candidates was as follows.
- For unreserved male candidates: Rs 1000
- For male candidates of Gen-EWS/OBC category: Rs 900
- Female candidates of the Unreserved/Gen-EWS/OBC category: Rs 800
- For SC/ST/PwD/Transgender category candidates: Rs 500
Interested applicants must keep a valid email and mobile number, and Aadhaar card details, a recent scanned photo and signature, details of the OBC-NCL/EWS certificate, and the PwD certificate (if applicable) ready to register for JEE Main 2027 January session exams.

How to apply or JEE Main 2027?
Candidates can follow the steps below:
- Go to the JEE Main official website
- Click on the ‘JEE Main January registration’ link and create a new login
- Fill the detailed application form by adding name, DOB and choice of examination cities and educational background
- Scan all registration documents, passport-sized photographs, signatures, and category certificates.
- Pay the JEE Main 2027 registration fee via online banking, UPI, or card payment to book a slot

JEE Mains 2027: Marking scheme for BTech, BE
The JEE Main 2027 marking scheme for MCQs and drawing tests is given below.
- MCQs: +4 marks for every correct answer and -1 mark for each wrong answer.
- Questions with numerical value answers: +4 marks for each correct answer and -1 for each wrong answer.
- Drawing Test: Two questions are evaluated out of 100 marks.
