JEE Mains March 2021: Dress code to follow at exam centres

NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued the guidelines to be followed by candidates for the upcoming session through JEE Main March admit card 2021. They also contain the dress code for JEE Main 2021 to be followed by candidates appearing in the exam. It does not exactly specify what to wear in NTA JEE Mains, however, it reflects what is prohibited as per the JEE Main dress code 2021.

Dress code for JEE Main March 2021

Candidates need to follow the NTA instructions regarding JEE Main dress code 2021 as provided below:

  • Can I wear shoes in JEE Mains? - Shoes/ footwear with thick soles are prohibited as per JEE Main dress code.

  • Clothing with large buttons is not permitted in the JEE Main 2021 exam centre premises.

  • Students asking ‘Can we wear full sleeves in JEE Mains?’ may know that there is no restriction on wearing full-sleeved clothing in the exam.

  • Candidates wearing a specific attire due to religious/ customary obligations are advised to report at the JEE Main test centre in advance to undergo thorough checking and mandatory frisking.

  • NTA authorities will provide a fresh two-ply mask to each candidate. It must be worn by candidates all the time while being in the examination premises on JEE Main March exam date.

  • Since metallic items are prohibited, candidates should not wear any kind of jewellery while appearing for the exam as per JEE Mains dress code 2021.


Things to carry at JEE Main 2021 exam hall

  • JEE Main March admit card 2021

  • Duly filled self-declaration/ undertaking.

  • A transparent ballpoint pen.

  • Spare photograph of candidate (to be pasted on attendance sheet)

  • Hand sanitizer (50 ml).

  • Transparent water bottle.

  • Valid ID proof (original)

  • Face mask

  • Gloves
