In JEE Main March 2021, a total of 6,19,638 candidates appeared at 792 Centres. The exam is conducted in 334 cities including 12 cities outside India in Baharain, Dubai, Colombo, Doha, Kathmandu, Kualalumpur, Sharjah, Lagos, Muscat, Riyadh, Singapore, and Kuwait. JEE (Main) - 2021 Exam will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode for B.E/B.Tech (Paper-1).

Unit-wise distribution of JEE Main March 16 question paper.
The level of JEE Main 17 March shift 1 Chemistry paper was easy. All Physical, Inorganic, and Organic Chemistry have equal weightage and questions. JEE Main 2021 paper covered almost all chapters of NCERT.
The JEE Mains chemistry papere had a total of 30*questions containing 20 Multiple choice questions, and 10 Numerical based questions out of which only 5 had to be attempted. The marking scheme for multiple-choice questions was +4 for a correct response, -1 for an incorrect response, 0 if not attempted. The marking scheme for numerical based questions was +4 for correct response and 0 in all other cases. The total marks of this section were 100.
Overall, the JEE Main March 17 shift 1 paper was of moderate to tough level. Not a balanced section as there were multiple questions from Chapters like Differential Equations, Conic Sections, Vectors & 3D Geometry. Few Numerical Based questions were tricky and required lengthy calculations.
Mathematics had total 30*questions – Sec-I had 20 Multiple choice questions with Single correct answers and Sec-II had 10 Numerical based questions out which only 5 had to be attempted. Marking scheme for multiple choice questions was +4 for correct response, -1 for incorrect response, 0 if not attempted. The questions were asked from chapters like Semi-Conductors, Current Electricity, Communication Devices, AC Circuits. Theory-Based questions from class 12th chapters of NCERT were also asked
Maths
JEE Main 2021 March session was difficult as compared to the feb session
Out of the total questions asked in the JEE Main March paper, 45% were easy, 30 % moderate, and 25% difficult.
In JEE Main Maths paper, 16 questions were asked from class 11 while 14 questions from class 12.
Physics
Weightage given to class 11 and 12 topics was equal.
Out of the total questions asked in the JEE Main March paper, 50% were easy, 35 % moderate, and 15% difficult.
Chemistry
Physical, organic, inorganic section was given equal weightage
Overall, the JEE Main 2021 March question paper was moderate
38% of questions were from from 11 while 62% were from class 12

This year major changes have been introduced in the exam pattern of JEE Main 2021 paper 1. As per the new JEE Main 2021 exam pattern, paper 1 i.e BE/ B.Tech will have a total of 90 questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Maths. Each subject will have two sections. The authorities have not yet released the JEE Main 2021 application form date for April session, however, the JEE registration 2021 is expected to be out in the last week of March. Candidates will be able to access the JEE Main 2021 application form at jeemain.nta.nic.in.
The National Testing Agency released the list of items along with the IIT JEE hall ticket that are allowed inside the examination hall. Apart from the items such as JEE Main March admit card 2021, self-declaration form, transparent water bottle, personal hand sanitizer (50 ml) gloves etc, students who are diabetic are also allowed to carry sugar tablets/ fruits at the JEE Main 2021 exam centre.
The NTA released an official notification on jeemain.nta.nic.in and nta.ac.in regarding the increase in the JEE Main 2021 exam centres for March, April and May sessions. On account of the requests made by various candidates and keeping in view the hardship faced due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the NTA has added three cities of exam centres i.e Kargil (Ladakh), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and Abuja/ Lagos (Nigeria) for JEE Main 2021 exams.
The authorities released the self-declaration form regarding COVID-19 along with the JEE Main March admit card 2021. The self-declaration form consists of a declaration regarding any symptoms of cough, fever, breathlessness, sore throat/ runny nose or body ache in the last 14 days. Each candidate who wishes to appear in the JEE Main March 2021 exam is required to fill the self-declaration form and carry it to the NTA JEE Main 2021 exam centre.

Physics- In JEE Main shift 2, questions were asked from Mechanics, Electrostatics, Magnetism, Current Electricity, Heat and Thermodynamics and optics. Some of the questions involved lengthy calculations, but overall, it was an easy to moderate level paper. Overall Paper was a lengthy 7-8 question from Modern physics and 5 questions from Radioactivity.

The National Testing Agency is conducting JEE Mains exam in four sessions this year. The first session was held from February 23 to 26 and JEE Main phase 2 is being held from March 16 to 18.
