JMI applications have been organised under four categories – General university, CUET-based, BTech and BArch, and multiple entry NEP programmes.
In a major academic expansion, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has introduced 30 new programmes for the 2026-27 academic session, while publishing the admission prospectus for the various undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
The university has also announced that it will implement the multiple entry mode under the four-year undergraduate programme (FYUP) from this year.
To simplify the JMI admissions 2026, applications have been organised under four categories – General university programmes, CUET-based programmes, BTech and BArch programmes, and multiple entry NEP programmes.
The JMI application form 2026 will be available from February 20 for admission to courses offered through entrance exams as well as national-level tests such as JEE Main, NATA, NEET, NCET, and CUET. While the registration portal will remain open until March 25 on the official website, candidates will be able to access the application portal up to 10 days after the declaration of the respective results.
JMI expands exam centres
To widen access, JMI has increased the number of exam centres for entrance exams to 11. Three new centres – Jaipur, Dehradun, and Kisharganj – have been added. The existing centres include Delhi, Lucknow, Guwahati, Patna, Kolkata, Srinagar, Calicut, and Bhopal.
No fee hike for 2026-27
The university said that there will be no increase in tuition fees for any programme in 2026-27 . In addition, JMI has also introduced a region-wise differential fee structure and reduced fees for foreign students under general and supernumerary categories from SAARC countries, West Asian countries, and African and Latin American countries across eligible UG, PG, and diploma programs to enhance international enrolment.
FYUP multiple entry begins
From this session, admissions under the multiple entry mode for FYUP will commence in line with National Education Policy (2020). The application form for vacant seats under this category will be available till April 10, the university said.
JMI VC Mazhar Asif stated: “This year, we have introduced 30 new programs, carefully designed in alignment with the NEP 2020 guidelines, and also started admissions under FYUP. JMI is especially pleased to have not increased any fee for its courses, which is significant. We have increased test centres to 11 this year so as to ensure that students from all regions of India study at JMI."
