Candidates can apply for a second time for JNU PhD admission for correction in test scores and subject codes.
Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) extended the registration timeline for Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) admissions 2025-26. Candidates may apply afresh if there is a change in their score or subject code of their qualifying examination - NET (UGC or CSIR), JRF, or GATE. Corrected applications may be submitted on or before July 28.
If a candidate applies for JNU PhD for a second time, the first application will be rejected and will not be considered for admission. Only the second application will be valid for the admission process.
Following the application correction for JNU PhD 2025, eligible candidates will be called for a vive-voce examination, following which the first merit list will be released. Selected candidates have to complete the pre-enrolment registration and payment of fees, confirming their seats. These candidates will appear for a physical verification.

JNU PhD Admission: Counselling
Second and third merit lists against vacant seats will be released by the university. Candidates will follow the fee payment and offline verification procedures. The PhD admission process at JNU will end on September 30, after all seats have been allotted through counselling.
JNU doctoral admissions will be solely based on merit in tests like the University Grants Commission - National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research - National Eligibility Test (CSIR NET), and the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE).
JNU PhD registration offers a separate window for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) applications. JRF is awarded to top-scoring candidates in the UGC NET, CSIR NET, and GATE exams.
