JNVST 2026 application deadline extended to Oct 23 for Class 9, 11 admissions

The correction window for making changes to the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) 2026 application form for classes 9 and 11 will be open from October 24 to 26, 2025.

The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has extended the online registration process for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test- JNVST 2026 for classes 9 and 11 to October 23, 2025. Candidates can now complete their applications through the official website at cbseitems.nic.in during this period.

The correction window for making changes to the JNVST 2026 application form for classes 9 and 11 will be open from October 24 to 26, 2025.

Candidates will only be allowed to do corrections in certain sections, which will include area, gender, category, medium of exam, and disability. Earlier, the JNVST 2026 deadline to submit an online application form was today, Oct 21, 2025.

The JNVST is conducted for admission to Class 9 and 11 at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, a system of central schools for talented students from rural areas.

The JNVST 2026 will be conducted for admission to the 2026-27 academic session on February 7, 2026. It will take place from 11 am to 1:30 pm. For students with benchmark disability, the JNVST 2026 online test will be extended by 50 minutes.

Students who will appear for the JNVST 2026 will be given admission on the basis of performance in the entrance test.

JNVST 2026: Documents needed for registrations

Candidates need to submit certain documents for admission to Class 9 and 11 and all certificates will be verified by the students’ current headmaster.

  • Recent Passport-sized Photograph
  • Student’s Signature
  • Parent’s Signature
  • Valid Photo ID (Aadhaar Card details)
  • Relevant Academic Marksheets.

JNVST Class 11 Admission 2026: Marks distribution

As per the selection criteria, students have to score a minimum of 6 marks out of 20 as per NVS criteria in all the 5 subjects. However, the merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in different subjects as per the below given criteria.
