The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has released the Round 1 opening and closing ranks (OR-CR) for admissions to Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs) for the 2026-27 academic session. Along with the round 1 seat allotment result , JoSAA has published the opening and closing ranks (OR-CR) for all participating institutes and programmes. The opening rank refers to the highest-ranked candidate who secured admission to a particular course, while the closing rank denotes the last rank at which a seat was allotted in that category and round.

IIT Bombay cut-offs (Open category)

At IIT Bombay, Computer Science and Engineering remained the most competitive programme, closing at AIR 65 in Round 1.

IIT Delhi Round 1 Cutoff 2026 (Open Category, AI Quota)

At IIT Delhi, Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) remained the most competitive programme in Round 1, closing at AIR 123 for the Open gender-neutral category, followed by Mathematics and Computing at AIR 320 and Electrical Engineering at AIR 593.

IIT Madras Round 1 Cutoff 2026 (Open Category, AI Quota)

At IIT Madras, Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) remained the most sought-after programme in Round 1, with admissions closing at AIR 149 in the Open gender-neutral category, followed by Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics at AIR 226.

JoSAA 2026 is conducting admissions to 138 participating institutions, including 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 26 IIITs, IIEST Shibpur, and several other GFTIs. Admission to IITs is based on JEE Advanced 2026 ranks, while admissions to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs are conducted through JEE Main 2026 ranks.
