JoSAA Counselling 2026 Round 1 Cut-offs: IIT Kanpur CSE closes at AIR 276 for general category

JoSAA Counselling 2026: The round 1 closing rank for the CSE programme at IIT Kanpur under the female supernumerary quota in the open category stood at 1223.
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has announced the round 1 opening and closing ranks for admissions to the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) programme at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) for the academic years 2026-27. The BTech programme closed at All India Rank (AIR) 276 for the open category.
As per the JoSAA Counselling 2026 round 1 , the CSE programme for the female candidates under the supernumerary quota of the open category closed at rank 1223, while the closing rank for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates was 48.
Moreover, the Other Backward Class (OBC) - Non Creamy Layer (NCL) category closed its admission at 155, while Scheduled Caste (SC), and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories concluded the CSE admissions for JoSAA round 1 at 86 and 43 ranks respectively.
JoSAA 2026 is conducting admissions to 138 participating institutions , including 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 26 IIITs, IIEST Shibpur, and several other GFTIs. Admission to IITs is based on JEE Advanced 2026 ranks, while admissions to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs are conducted through JEE Main 2026 ranks.

The JoSAA round 1 cut-offs for IIT Kanpur’s CSE admissions reflects that the BTech programme remains competitive for CS aspirants. Candidates who have secured seats in the first round can either accept, float or slide their allotted seats as per the JoSAA counselling guidelines.
