Kerala declares holidays for all educational institutions till October 23: Report
The Kerala government postponed college reopening in the state to October 25 which were supposed to reopen on October 18.

NEW DELHI: The Kerala higher education department has declared holidays for all educational institutions till October 23, as per The Hindu report.
The state government had decided to reopen colleges for conducting physical classes from October 18, however, the government postponed college reopening to October 25 due to heavy rains, the report said.
Only those students who have been vaccinated with both doses of COVID-19 will be allowed to attend offline classes.

Earlier on October 4, the state reopened colleges for final year students of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes with strict COVID-19 protocols, after a gap of a year.
Higher Education Department Joint Secretary Sajukumar, in an order, said classes for the final semesters of degree and post-graduate courses will be started, strictly adhering to COVID-19 health protocols.
On September 7, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had announced that all higher educational institutions, including technical, polytechnic and medical, would be allowed to function from October 4 for final year students. He, however, had said that reopening of the institutions would be subject to the condition that all final year students, faculty and staff receive at least the first dose of the vaccination.

Kerala has also decided to reopen schools from November 1 for Classes 1 to 7 and 10 to 12. The rest of the classes will begin from November 15.
“Schools in Kerala to reopen from Nov 1st, as per the last Covid-19 review meeting. Classes I to VII and X to XII to begin initially. From Nov 15, the rest of the classes will also begin. The Departments Of Education & Health will hold joint meetings for necessary preparations,” Kerala education minister V Sivankutty said in a social media post.
