Kerala Plus One Exam 2021: SC stays Kerala Class 11 exam due to COVID-19
Supreme Court today put a stay on the state government's decision to conduct Kerala plus one exam due to increasing COVID-19 cases. The exam was scheduled for September 6 to 27.

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court today put a stay on the Kerala government’s decision to hold Class 11 (plus one) exam in offline mode from September 5 as COVID-19 cases are consistently increasing in the state.
“Supreme Court stays for a week Kerala Govt decision to hold Class XI (Plus One) Exam physically from September 5 amid rising cases of COVID,” according to Live Law.
As per the report, the bench led by Justice Khanwilkar said, “There is an alarming situation in Kerala. It accounts for more than 70% cases of the country, with around 35 K daily cases. Children of tender age can't be exposed to risk."

Directorate of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala on September 2 (yesterday) released the revised timetable for Kerala plus one exam 2021 to give students enough time to prepare. Kerala plus one exams were scheduled from September 6 to 27.
Saying that conducting physical exams will be a risk when COVID-19 cases are at peak, Advocate Padmanabhan said that around 3 lakh students will take the exam scheduled to be held from September 6 to 27, the report added.
Kerala, which recorded the country's first coronavirus case in early 2020, reported 32,097 new COVID-19 infections and 188 deaths on Thursday, taking the total infection count to 41,22,133 and the fatalities to 21,149.
