Kerala TET 2024 registration begins today at ktet.kerala.gov.in; application fee, passing criteria

NEW DELHI: Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan will open the registration window for Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2024 November session today, November 11. Eligible candidates will be able to fill out the KTET November 2024 application form through the official website, ktet.kerala.gov.in. Candidates will be able to apply for Kerala TET 2024 November session till November 20.

The Kerala TET exam twice a year to determine the eligibility of candidates to teach in lower primary and upper primary schools in Kerala.

Candidates from general categories are required to pay an application fee of Rs 500 to register for the KTET November 2024 exam. Candidates from reserved categories are required to pay Rs 250. The last date to pay the Kerala TET 2024 application fee is November 20.

KTET November 2024: Exam date

As per the schedule, the Kerala TET 2024 for Category 1, 2 exams will be held on January 18, 2025, and exams for Category 3 and 4 will take place on January 19, 2025. The KTET exam will be conducted in two shifts. The first shift will begin from 10 am to 12:30 pm and the second shift will commence from 2 pm to 4:30 pm.

The KTET November 2024 admit card will be issued from January 8, 2025. Candidates will have to use their login credentials such as registration number and date of birth to download the KTET 2024 admit card.

Kerala TET 2024: Passing criteria

For Categories I & II (Lower and Upper Primary Teachers):

• General Category Candidates: Candidates belonging to the general category must secure at least 60% in total to pass the exam.
• SC/ST/OBC/PH Candidates: These candidates need to achieve a minimum of 55% to pass.

For Categories III & IV (High School and Specialized Teachers):

• General Category Candidates: For candidates applying for high school teacher positions (Category III) or specialized teacher positions (Category IV), a minimum of 55% is required to clear the exam.
• SC/ST/OBC/PH Candidates: These candidates need a minimum of 50% to be eligible for passing in Categories III and IV.

Minimum Subject-Wise Qualifying Marks

Apart from the overall percentage required, candidates must also score a minimum percentage in each subject of the exam. The subject-wise qualifying marks are:

• At least 40% in each subject for all candidates, regardless of their category, is necessary to pass the exam.

This means that even if a candidate secures the required overall percentage, they still need to achieve a minimum of 40% in every subject section of the exam. Failing to meet this minimum in any subject will disqualify the candidate, even if the overall percentage is met.
