NEW DELHI: LM Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology’s School of Management (LMTSM) has announced that it has achieved the AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) International Accreditation. The achievement has placed the LMTSM among 1,051 business schools across 68 countries globally, a distinction held by less than 6% of business schools internationally.
The management school is the maiden business school in Punjab to earn AACSB accreditation, and has now joined other nine AACSB-accredited institutions in northern India and 24 across the country, as per the official notice.
The LM Thapar School of Management also organised an event at its Derabassi campus, where Prathap Das, regional head of south asia at AACSB, was the chief guest and institute’s faculty, students and alumni also took part in the event.
Prathap Das said: “I congratulate the senior leadership for their vision in achieving this milestone. I’m truly impressed by the enthusiasm and energy across the campus. The excitement and sense of accomplishment are very visible, and it’s commendable.”
The institute further said that the accreditation is a testament to LMTSM’s commitment to academic excellence, innovative teaching methods, impactful research, and a holistic approach to management education.
It also emphasised that the milestone reaffirms the LMTSM’s mission to develop responsible, forward-thinking leaders, who are equipped to navigate complex global challenges with integrity and purpose.

Padmakumar Nair, director of Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology and dean of the Thapar School of Liberal Arts & Sciences, said: “I want to congratulate all our stakeholders—faculty, students, alumni—everyone who made this possible. This is not just an accreditation. It is a global gold standard. The AACSB process has been a challenging journey, but deeply satisfying. It opens new doors for our students, alumni, and faculty to engage on global platforms with credibility and confidence.”
Rajeev Ranjan Vederah, Chairman of the Board of Governors at Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, expressed his pride in the school’s achievement said: “I’m truly delighted with the milestone achieved. In the history of the emergence of LM School of Management, we can clearly see ourselves developing and evolving. This recognition has added a sense of legitimacy and confidence in our journey forward—it shows we’re headed in the right direction. I’ve always believed that institutions today must think and operate with a global perspective, transcending regional boundaries. This accreditation reflects that ambition. It’s not just about curriculum or pedagogy—it’s about the entire ecosystem: the quality of faculty, students, infrastructure, placements. It encompasses everything.”
The AACSB accreditation will enhance the learning experience for students, and boost the global reputation of LMTSM alumni. It also ensures that the academic practices are globally benchmarks for faculty, and provides greater confidence to recruiters.
