School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad on Saturday said that the syllabus of Classes 1 to 12 will be slashed by 25% this year. “Based on deliberations held with various stakeholders and in view of the prevailing health emergency, we have decided to revise the syllabus for Std 1 to 12 for the academic year 2021-22, and reduce it by 25 percent like last year”, Gaikwad said in a tweet.

The new announcement has been made after discussions with the stakeholders to ensure the students meet the learning standards in these testing times.

Last year, the state education department had reduced the syllabus of Class 1 to 12 by 25% to ensure the students must learn the remaining syllabus owing to the loss of teaching hours due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Gaikwad further said that the measure has been taken in view of the reduced time for organising classes and help the students to achieve the learning objectives.

“The measure is being taken in view of the reduced time permitted for organising classes & to help students achieve the learning objectives in a less stressful environment.@scertmaha will soon notify details of lessons omitted from the respective textbooks @bb_thorat #schools”, she tweeted.

The SSC Class 10 results were announced on July 17, 2021. This year, the pass percentage was 99.95%. The board had cancelled the Class 10 exam due to the sudden spike in COVID-19 cases. Maharashtra Board SSC result 2021 was prepared on the basis of evaluation criteria.
