NEW DELHI: The Maharashtra government has cancelled the Class 12 HSC board exam 2021 due to the prevailing coronavirus situation in the state. The decision to cancel the Maharashtra HSC exam 2021 was taken keeping in mind the health and safety of students.
This decision came two days after the CBSE decided to scrap the Class 12 board exams 2021. Check all state board exam updates .
Recently, Maharashtra school education minister Varsha Gaikwad said that a proposal has been sent to the disaster management authority for conducting the Maharashtra HSC exams 2021 and said that a decision on the issue will be taken in a couple of days.
“Amid the pandemic which has hit Maharashtra hard, health remains the top priority for the state government. Our priority is the health and safety of students. They are facing two challenges - curriculum and the pandemic,” the minister further added.
Soon, the board will develop the Maharashtra HSC evaluation criteria and results will be prepared as per this new assessment pattern.
Earlier, the education department cancelled Maharashtra state SSC board exam 2021 and announced that students will be evaluated on the basis of new evaluation criteria . They will be assessed based on their performance in the internal exams of Classes 9 and 10. This year, the board is planning to declare Maharashtra SSC result 2021 by the last week of June 2021.
After the review meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, many educational boards including CBSE, CISCE, Haryana Board, Gujarat Board have cancelled the Class 12 exams. However, the evaluation criteria are yet to be decided by many boards.
