The Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurgaon, has announced admissions for its Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) 2026 batch. Applications for the doctoral-level programme are open and will close on February 28, 2026.
Approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and recognised by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) as equivalent to a PhD degree awarded by Indian universities, the programme is designed for candidates with strong academic credentials and a commitment to knowledge creation in the field of management.
FPM is in two formats — residential and non-residential.
The residential track is aimed at developing scholars for academic careers in teaching and research at leading business schools, universities and research institutions.
The non-residential track is tailored for working professionals and senior executives seeking to pursue advanced research alongside professional commitments, with a focus on management practice, consulting, sustainability and technology-led solutions.
MDI Gurgaon FPM 2026: Programme structure, support
The programme provides specialised research training across multiple management domains. These include the following:
Accounting and Finance
Economics and Public Policy
Marketing
Strategic Management
Operations Management
Information Management
Business Communication
Organisational Behaviour and Human Resource Management.
Residential scholars enrolled in the FPM programme are eligible for financial assistance, including a monthly stipend of Rs 60,000, a contingency grant of Rs 1.5 lakh, conference support up to Rs 4 lakh, and international research funding assistance of up to Rs 2.5 lakh.
MDI Gurgaon FPM 2026: Eligibility criteria
Applicants for residential scholars must meet prescribed academic criteria, including a minimum of 60 percent marks in prior qualifications.
The maximum age limit for the residential programme is 50 years.
Candidates applying for the non-residential track must be at least 35 years old with a minimum of 10 years of managerial experience, preferably at a senior level.
Admissions will be based on valid scores from CAT, GMAT, GRE, UGC-JRF or GATE.
“Candidates from diverse backgrounds, including women, persons with disabilities, EWS and rural-urban backgrounds, are encouraged to apply for the FPM programme,” the release noted.
