NEW DELHI: The State Common Entrance Cell, Maharashtra has released a notification on the current status of MH CET Law 2021 and admission tests conducted for other professional law courses. According to the announcement, it was informed that the CET process for the academic year 2021-22 has been delayed and the admission notification will be released once the CET process is finalized.

Generally, the CET Cell announces the admission process and dates in the month of December. However, the MH CET Law 2021 process has been affected due to COVID-19 which forced the authorities to postpone the entrance test and Centralized Admission Process (CAP) of the academic year 2020-21. The present delay in the MH CET law 2021 admission process is a spillover effect of the delay caused in the previous year due to the pandemic.
According to the exam authorities, the notification for the academic year 2021-22 will be published once the dates of MH CET 2021 are finalized. All notices, announcements, brochures, syllabus, the application form will be available at the official website of MH CET law 2021 - mahacet.org.
The CET Cell has announced that it will try to establish SETU centres for assisting the candidates in online form filing and document uploading, a step toward solving the problems of remote area candidates. The SETU centres will be provided in every district.
The MH CET Law 2021 will be conducted for admissions to 3-year LLB and 5-year LLB programmes. There will be separate admission tests for the above-mentioned law programmes. The broad eligibility criteria for MH CET law 2021 are given below.
The candidates should have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognized board or institution.
The candidate should have passed graduation in any discipline from a recognized university.
Candidates must have passed their qualifying examination with minimum qualifying marks as given below.
General, EWS or Orphan candidates - 45%
SC and ST of Maharashtra - 40%
VJNT, SBC and OBC category candidates of Maharashtra - 42%
The State CET Cell conducts MH CET law every year for admission to 3-year and 5-year LLB programmes offered by the law colleges in Maharashtra. Around 145 government and self-financed law colleges participate in the common entrance test. As for the previous academic year (2020-21), the CET Cell is currently conducting the MH CET law counselling process of the second round. It will release the second round of three-year LLB seat allotment today, on March 15, 2021. Following the second round, an institution round will be held which is likely to be completed by April 2021.
